As Easter approaches we at Nicky’s Fish Bar and Restaurant wish to pass on our regards for a Happy Easter and hope you can make it down to try some of our locally sourced line caught fish this Good Friday. Usual suspects are of course available Cod, Haddock, Plaice with Sea Bream also available (limited), Calamari, Breaded Prawns and fresh succulent Salmon. Whatever you do though a big warm Happy Easter from all of us at Nicky’s Fish Bar Takeaway and Restaurant.

Menu – Fish

Fresh from Grimsby, our line caught cod, haddock and plaice is available daily here at Nicky’s Fish Bar and Restaurant. Cooked to order in our Derby restaurant it’s one of the best places to sit down and enjoy our traditional fish and chips meal, whether you’re a Derby local or a visitor to our fair country and city!

We also offer a variety of other seafood dishes such as our homemade fish cakes (made with the same fresh cod we sell for our fish and chip meals) that’s available for take away and also regular specials such as calamari, mussels, crab, red mullet and lobster. The specials are available subject to chef’s specials and menu updates, although please feel free to phone ahead if you’d like us to order in for you.

Our Famous Fish Platter is available for sharing and is proving extremely popular for diners who want a delicious and fresh seafood option. Always cooked on request and brought sizzling to your table, the Fish Platter at Nicky’s Fish Bar and Restaurant is a great value choice for customers who like to share.

1st March, Friday – Greek Night

Another fantastic Greek Night is to be held on Friday 1st March 2013 here at Nicky’s Fish Bar & Restaurant.
A big thank you goes out to all our diners, the band and our beautiful belly dancer for helping make these superb evenings so much fun and not really feel like work! All our best to all involved and of course my lovely staff too, regards Nicky.

Menu – Fish and Chips

Of course we’re not only skilled at the Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, anyone who knows Derby will know that Nicky has been serving some of the best fish and chips for over 30 years.

Nicky’s Fish Bar & Restaurant is famous for our Traditional Fish and Chips and is delivered to us fresh from Grimsby every day. Specialising in Cod, Haddock and Plaice, we also have a range of seafood covering Seabass, Prawns and Lobster (available on request).

Both Nicky and his wife Flora enjoy serving a slightly different menu for our loyal customer base consisting of the Traditional Fish and Chips and some of Britain’s firm favourites popular all over the country.

If your taste isn’t all that adventurous, don’t worry as there are plenty of wholesome and tasty dishes on offer both in the evening (a slightly smaller selection) and in the day.

Please have a glance at our Our Menus for more information but rest assured, our traditional fish and chips and similar fare menus are always cooked fresh to order and are one of the best in Derby for quality and price.

Currently we have the following selection for children who require a smaller portion of food:

Menu – Pies

We wouldn’t be much of a Fish and Chip Restaurant or Take Away without a few pies on the menu!

We’ve tried the rest but we stick with the best and our Derby public are still voting for Pukka Pies. Firm favourites:

  • Chicken and Mushroom Pie
  • Steak and Kidney Pie
  • Beef and Onion Pie

These still dominate although also on the menu and very popular with our customers is a local special from a Derbyshire based chef:

  • Home made Steak and Ale Pie
